Completed in December 2019, the Vision 2020 redevelopment project transformed State Library Victoria, Australia's oldest and busiest public library and one of Victoria's most important cultural institutions.
At the heart of Vision 2020 was the refurbishment of the Library's incomparable heritage spaces, the creation of innovative new spaces for children and teenagers, and the reinvention of our services as we embrace new technologies and promote digital literacy and creativity for all Victorians.
ICN Victoria connected local businesses to the Vision2020 redevelopment, preserving the cultural heritage of this iconic institution,
· Timber Restoration: Completed by Martin Coman, Bendigo-based furniture maker.
· Leather Upholstery: Refinished by Woodshed Antiques (Graeme Davison), Ballarat.
· Mechanical Ductwork: Locally fabricated by Allstaff Airconditioning.
· Steel Fabrication: Done locally by Apex Welding & Steel Fabrication in Campbellfield.
· Glazing: Completed by Integrity Glazing, with glass sourced from Viridian in Dandenong.
· Metalwork: Locally fabricated by Balustrading Specialists.
· Acoustic Panels: Manufactured by Autex in Heidelberg & Bayswater.
